Alexandre Varlet's debut album, Naïf Comme Le Couteau, was a wonderful, critically acclaimed record.

We were right to put our trust in Varlet's remarkable approach towards crafting meaningful and singular songs. His sophomore album, Dragueuse De Fond, fulfills all our hopes - and then some!

Varlet knows how to write lyrics with depth, something which is at the core of any good, classic French song. He dwells fearlessly on love, death and desperate emotion, all the while keeping humour and derision on the horizon.

Musically, Alexandre Varlet takes his songs to even greater heights. It is quite extraordinary for a musician and arranger in his 20s to release such a confident-sounding record.

The difficult second album syndrome has led many artists to disaster. The successor to Naïf Comme Le Couteau is an instant classic.
