Whereas Alexandre Varlet's previous album, Dragueuse De Fond, is a French Chanson classic, Ciel De Fête clearly shows his fondness for the English 80s post-punk and North American 70s folk.

Produced, played and arranged with four hands by Varlet and Nicolas Leroux, the pair show their rock potential on "Le Sens De L'Orientation" and "Cours Cowboy". Elsewhere, "Montre Toi" and "Mes Yeux" are obvious singles.

The French singer-songwriter hasn't left his beloved acoustic guitar behind, though. "Tutti Quanti", "Presque Monde", "La Providence" and "Ciel De Fête" are typical of Varlet's past output.

The deleted CD is available now as a digital download.
